Inspired by Ferdinand Cheval and his Palais Idéal, built by hand over 33 years from stones collected along his daily postal route, the project reflects on the persistence of imagination — the act of creating something simply because you believe it should exist.
Here, revolt is not destruction, but refusal:
to abandon imagination,
to surrender to practicality,
to stop creating without certainty.
to surrender to practicality,
to stop creating without certainty.
Developed through field research around the Palais Idéal, Rêv(olt)e translates this idea through clothing, sound, painting, photography, video, and spatial experience.
The four-track EP translates field research conducted around Ferdinand Cheval's Palais Idéal into a sonic exploration of imagination, repetition, and persistence.
Drawing on the surrounding environment and the process of observation and collection, the EP transforms the experience of the site into sound, reflecting the relationship between everyday gestures and extraordinary creation.
The second track, Le Marginal, features a collaboration with Leo Atzori, bringing another artistic perspective into the project.
Stone becomes fabric.
Walking becomes sound.
Observation becomes image.
Dream becomes form.
Walking becomes sound.
Observation becomes image.
Dream becomes form.
Rêv(olt)e asks what can emerge when dreaming is not an escape from reality, but a way of reshaping it.
